During the months of lockdown we have been treated to some very hot dry weather. This has meant a lot of watering in the garden and allotment. Finally, after a few sprinklings of light showers we get some substantial rain. More to come
Hi, my name’s Mark Pearson.
For reasons lost in the mists of time I decided to set myself a photographic goal that would offer a challenge. My intention was to document the changing of the seasons and the annual celebrations of the year. And then I decided to make the task much more interesting by doing this all in black and white. Interesting as in much harder.

The Threshold of Spirit – Sacred Spaces
These galleries feature places that I find myself repeatedly drawn to, places that lend themselves to the atmospherics of Black and White photography. They exist on the boundary, distinct and separate from our everyday world. These are liminal spaces and as such enable us to glimpse between the worlds, to see between shadows and light.
The Days Unfolding – A Celebration of Time
We mark the passing of time with festivities and celebration and tradition. As the rhythms of each season and the light and the colours change, so the land around us shifts and transforms and reveals. We witness and participate in fleeting moments of music and merrymaking, ritual and gathering. This is an ongoing project of four galleries, marking the annual procession of the seasons throughout the year.
